Tony Armstrong is a star.
Since appearing on our screens on NITV and now as the ABC News Breakfast sports presenter, everyone has fallen head over heels with Tony. Even though many of us having gotten to know him as a sports presenter and journo, Tony’s story stretches way back. A career in AFL football, an only child finding his mates in team sports, and someone who has a deep love and connection to song.
Often when I Take 5, themes emerge without either of us realising… it becomes a bit like therapy, and that’s what this conversation felt like. Don’t worry, it’s really fun, too. When he pulled on his footy boots as a little kid, I wonder if he ever imagined he’d be receiving the Graeme Kennedy Award as a Breakthrough Talent at the Logies.
