Dolly Parton has officially released her new album, Rockstar. Here's which artists are featured and where you can listen
Last year, Dolly Parton was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — arguably against her wishes.
Now, almost exactly a year later, she's released her first rock 'n' roll album.
Here's the line-up of big-name musicians joining her on the album and some of the songs you can expect to hear.
When did Dolly Parton's new album come out?
The Jolene singer released her 49th solo studio album Rockstar on Friday, November 17.
This is Parton's first rock album after more than 50 years in the country music industry.
Why has Parton released a rock album?
In 2022, Parton was one of 17 artists and groups considered for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
While Parton was grateful to be nominated, she shared a statement on her official social media pages announcing she didn't feel she had "earned" the right to be nominated and didn't want to take votes away from other nominees.
"I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out," Parton wrote on Twitter.
Despite her humble request to reject the nomination, she was inducted in November.
"They were going to put me in anyway, so I just accepted it gracefully. But I thought, 'Well, I'm going to have to earn my keep'," she said.
And Parton has kept her promise, creating her first full-fledged rock album.
